Gentle Reminder: Sickness, Jabs & 48 hrs Notice

I would like to take this opportunity to make new clients aware, and existing clients reminded of the importance of rescheduling your appointment should you feel unwell (this also applies to rashes and skin infections). And also if you have a vaccination scheduled in the 48 hours before your appointment with me. Below forms part of the standard script which clients receive on their appointment reminder emails, so please excuse the repetition:

"I also need to check that you are feeling well (no Cold, Flu or Covid symptoms), no new rashes or skin infections, and that you are not receiving a vaccination in the 48 hours before your appointment. This applies to Flu, Covid and travel vaccinations.

Please can you contact me 48 hours before your appointment if you are no longer able to attend, to avoid a late cancellation fee. It also gives me the opportunity to offer the appointment to another client- thank you"

Clients receive an email reminder 3 days before their scheduled appointment- please let me know if these are not arriving.

Please contact me as soon as you start to feel unwell to reschedule. I often have calls for urgent appointments, so you will be doing others a favour by giving me fair warning where you can. That said, I do understand that life throws you curve balls with little or no warning.

Soft tissue treatment when you are are not feeling well will make you feel far worse, which is not what you want when you are already feeling bad. This principle also applies to vaccinations. Your immune system is already working hard enough to process the jab, without massage contributing to its workload.

If a client ignores the sickness and vaccination protocol and turns up to clinic anyway, treatment will be refused and they will still be charged for the session.

I am self employed, so if I'm unwell I cannot work, and have no income. As you can imagine I come into contact with lots of people and I don't want to be known as their patient zero! :)

Thank you for making it this far into a boring, grumbly post, but your understanding is appreciated.

Best wishes and see you soon,

Mel
